Miami
Herald Spelling Bee
Saint Mark Catholic School is proud to announce our representative to
the Miami Herald Spelling Bee to be held in February 2009. Our students
competed in the Spelling Bee on Monday, December 15 and the winner from
Saint Mark Catholic School is Andrea Lopez - a 6th grader in Mrs.
Page's home room. Congratulations, Andrea!
Registration for the 2009 - 2010 School Year
Saint Mark Catholic School will begin taking
applications for our wait list for the 2009/2010 school year on January
20th and will continue receiving these applications through January
30th. If you would like to have your child attend Saint Mark Catholic
School, please be sure to stop by the school office in January and
complete an application. The school office is open from 7:30 AM to 3:30
PM. All families will be notified by the end of February if there is
space for their child(ren). Please note, if you have placed your name on
our wait list in the past, you must reapply each year. If you have any
questions, please call the school office at 954-434-3887 and speak with
the Registrar.
Environment Club
The Environmental
Club at Saint Mark will continue collecting used ink cartridges and old cell
phones. We just received a check for $306.00 for the last collection!! What
an awesome way to make money for the school and at the same time keeping
these materials out of our landfills. The environmental club appreciates any
of your donations. Please drop them at the school office.
5th Grade
Recycling Project
The 5th grade classes have begun their own recycling project. David
Espinoza, the president of the 5th grade class has signed up with TerraCycle,
Inc. to collect juice pouches from Capri Sun, Kool-Aid, Honest Kids and
other brands. Saint Mark Catholic School will receive 2 cents for each of
the Capri Sun, Kool-Aid and Honest Kids empty pouches and 1 cent for any
other pouches not listed. If your family uses these drink pouches, please do
not throw them away, but keep them and send them to our school. We thank you
for your cooperation with this recycling fundraising project.
