Catholic Schools Week
January 29th - February 5th is Catholic
Schools Week - This year's theme is
Faith - Academics - Service. The theme
focuses on three priorities that
Catholic schools establish that make
them stand out from other educational
institutions. Children are taught Faith
- not just the basics of Christianity,
but how to have a relationship with God.
Academics - Catholic schools are held to
very high standards. We strive to help
each child reach his or her potential.
Service - the giving of one's time and
effort to help others is taught, both as
an expression of faith, and good
citizenship. Saint Mark has a full week
of activities planned for the families.
We will have field day, faculty-student
volleyball game, bulletin board
decorating contest, silly hat and silly
sock day, elocution contest and a
special All School Mass in honor of
Grandparents. This Mass will be at 10:00
AM on Thursday, February 2nd. We invite
grandparents of Saint Mark Parish to
join us for this celebration.

Scouting News
Saint Mark Girl Scout troop 11031

11th. The snacks, cards and letters were
shipped to Afghanistan. This past
Thursday, January 5th our students
received a surprise visit from Officer
Alexander Santucci, a U.S. Marine, at
the school Mass. Officer Santucci

questions and visited the classrooms.
