Report Card
Distribution
The end of our 2nd trimester is Thursday, March 4th. Report cards for
students in PK4 - 8th grade will be sent home in the blue communication
folders on Friday, March 19th.
ITBS Testing
ITBS testing for our second grade students will take place Tuesday,
March 9th through Friday, March 12th. Please be sure to have your child
arrive to school
on time.
Knights of
Columbus Free Throw Competition
Congratulations to Alyssa Pena and Gigi Raffa from Mr. Modlics fifth grade
class. They will compete in the State Competition on Saturday, March 13th in
Orlando. We wish them the best of luck.
Broward County
Science Fair
Ten of our
students entered their projects in the Broward County Science Fair and all
of them received a special recognition. We are so proud of them. The winners
were: Best Project in Middle School and First Place in Environmental Science
- Jacqueline Pecaro; First place in Medicine and Health - Lauren Ferrara;
Second Place in Environmental Science - Brianna Valdes; Second Place in
Biochemistry and a Special Award - Natalia Rementeria; Second Place in
Engineering and a Special Award - Tyler Stamm; Third Place in Botany -
Victoria Vazquez; Third Place in Environmental Science - Alejandro Forrero;
Third Place in Medicine and Health - Freddy Vallejo; Fourth Place in Physics
- Juan Nunez; Fourth Place in Botany Team Competition - Christy Boucourt,
Jessica Gutstein, and Hannah Nix.

Saint Mark Awarded $500 for Recycling
Our school was awarded $500 for finishing in second place our of 98 schools
last semester.
We are continuing to collect used ink jet cartridges and old cell phones. Please drop these items off at the office. Thank you for your support
of Saint Mark Catholic School.

Thanks to the generosity
of our students, parents and staff, we collected over
$5000 for Hatian relief this past Friday.
Academic
Olympics
On Saturday, January 23, Archbishop McCarthy High School held
its annual Academic Olympics, a competition among twelve Catholic schools
contending for the coveted traveling trophy. Twenty students from Saint Mark
participated in the various subject areas. All participants received a medal
for their hard work, and students who placed in their subject areas received
a plaque and a scholarship to Archbishop McCarthy, ranging from $250-$800.
Those who placed are as follows:
Jovanna Sarduy-1st in P.E., Nicolas Zedan-1st in P.E., Andrew Vitrano-2nd in Art
Lauren Ferrara-3rd in Science, Andrew Iacobelli-3rd in Music
Although our team did not take home the trophy, they did a
phenomenal job, placing third overall. Congratulations to you!
