St. Mark Outreach
Provides assistance to families in
our parish and surrounding community through parishioner
contributions. Food, financial assistance for rent,
medicine, utilities and basic necessities, distribution
of donated clothing and furniture included.
Referrals to other agencies for housing, domestic
abuse/violence, drug/alcohol addiction. Distribute
Christmas gifts to families, prepare Thanksgiving
baskets, and help provide other Catholic charities with
assistance.
25th Anniversary Outreach Food Drive
The St. Mark Outreach Ministry will be
sponsoring a parish food drive for the entire month of
October. The current economic crisis has had an adverse
effect on many local families; including some in our own
parish. Local food pantries are having difficulty
keeping up with the demand. Here's an opportunity for
those who are blessed to help feed those in need. A list
of non-perishable items needed will be published in next
weeks bulletin. Thanks in advance for your support!
Once a year, Fr. Whyte
allows St. Mark Outreach to have a special collection to
support their ministry. The collection will take place
next week (second collection at all the Masses). If you
receive monthly envelopes, there is a special envelope
marked Outreach in your envelopes. If you do not receive
monthly envelopes, we have placed Pink envelopes on all
the tables in the Church. St. Mark Outreach assists
families in our parish and community with such things as
rent, electric, water, gas, food, etc. etc. Over the
past year we have been able to assist families by giving
almost $17,000.00. All of this money came from St. Mark
parishioners. Thank you all very much for your
generosity and we hope we will be able to continue to
help through your generous support.
